Description

Leaflet for the exhibition, Books and Pages, at the Metro-Dade Cultural Center, July 24 – September 15, 1987. The second page of the leaflet reads: Artists’ books are not books about art. They are art. Their form and content are amazingly diverse. They are sometimes unique objects. At other times, they are produced in editions. In multiples they are a practical and inexpensive and portable means to reach a wide audience. Multiple and unique art objects in book format offer an intimate, one to one, hands on method of communication between artist and viewer. The holding, moving of pages and “reading” of an art object is a delightful visual and sensual experience.
