Razor Wire Women includes essays and art by scholars, artists, and activists that reveal the experiences of incarcerated women. The back of the book reads: Offering nuanced portraits of women's lives inside razor wire and prison walls, Razor Wire Women puts incarcerated women in dialogue with scholars, artists, educators, and activists who live outside of prisons but work on issues connected to the prison industrial complex. Women make up the fastest-growing group of the U.S. prison population, yet prison scholarship largely overlooks the struggles of incarcerated women, and their voices are often silenced both in and out of the prison infrastructure. From the vantage points of those both inside and outside of prisons, this collection of essays and art illuminates many of the distinct experiences and concerns of incarcerated women, including those of girls in prison, abuse and rape, the policing of women, incarcerated motherhood, mental health issues in prisons, incarcerated women's artistic and cultural production, and prisons' impact on families, health, and sexuality. Combining the transcendence, hope and clarity of art with powerful analytical and conceptual tools, Razor Wire Women reveals the gendered dimensions of the incarceration now experienced by a growing number of women in the U.S.

Booklet for the exhibition The Art of Miami at Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, December 14, 1985 – January 26, 1986. The Introduction reads: An exhibition of “The Art of Miami” should prove intriguing for SECCA’s visitors. Everyone knows how congenial life is in South Florida. And most might expect to see traces of that in Miami art: some sort of Flamingo/ art Deco regal touch, done with lots of pastel and not too much mind. There will be some surprises. It is true that Miami is America’s tropical city, but that is not what sets it apart. It is a new city – an almost instantly big city – and a demographer’s dream of a city with a singularly rich and energizing mix of cultures and traditions. The artists chosen for this show represent a distillation of that mix, so that twenty-two can stand in for many and delineate the role heritage plays in Miami art. Participating artists include: Carlos Alfonzo, Mario Algaze, Stephen Althouse, Mario Bencomo, Stephen Bird, Maria Brito-Avellana, Philip Brooker, Carol K. Brown, Rosemarie Chiarlone, Angi Curreri, Christine Federighi, Ron Fondaw, Lisa Klausner, Suzanne Kores, Carol S. Levy, Silvia Lizama, Roberta B.
