The Library and Research Center Books as Art VIII
Booklet for the exhibition, Book as Art VIII, at The National Museum of Women in Washington, April 15 – October 25, 1996. The forward reads: The exhibition Book as Art VIII presents sixty-seven bookworks by forty-one women artists who have a wide range of interests and sensitivities. Whether they express happiness or despair, fleeting impressions or strong convictions, these works reflect the natural disposition of women toward confessional sharing and emotional introspection. Some of the participating artists include: Etel Adnan, Marion A. Baker, Michele Burgess, Marylee Bytheriver, Julie Chen, Rosemarie Chiarlone, Carol Cunningham, Evelyn Eller, Rose Folsom, Helen Frankenthaler, Rita Galle, Jan Gilbert, Adriane Herman, and Carol Pallesen Hicks.
