Pamphlet for the exhibition I will cut thrU: Pochoirs, Carvings, and other Cuttings at The Center for Book Arts, July 7 - September 11, 2010. The acknowledgment reads: The Center for Book Arts is delighted to present this year’s artist members exhibition, I will cut thrU, featuring both artist members and invited artist to broaden the discourse in this exhibition. Co-curated by guest curator Amber McMillan, Proprietor of Post Editions and Letterpress Instructor and myself (Alexander Campos), this exhibition focuses on how the art of cutting is used to convey content, form, text, and image. Artworks included range in technique from paper cutting, altered books, relief printing, pochoir (stenciling), and new media, as well as sculpture and conceptual art. Participating artists include: Sun Young Kang, Chris Perry, Rosemarie Chiarlone, Sarah Bryant, Doug Beube, Lei Lei Guo, Guy Laramee, Irwin Susskind, Carolyn Thompson, Macy’s Chadwick, Beatrice Coron and Elizabeth Desole.
