Description

Brochure for the McColl Center for Visual Art: Contemporary Art lives Here, Fall 2008. The mission statement reads: An urban artist -in-residence program, McColl Center for Visual Art actively participates in and contributes to the energy and vibrancy of Charlotte. The public is welcome to visit the Center and artist/ public interactions are encouraged. A primary goa of the Center is demystifying the creative process, to make contemporary art more accessible and raise the perception of the value of artists to society. Through interaction with artists in their studios, the Center provides a portal from which the non-artist can gain insight into the creative process. Fall resident artists include: Izel Vargas, Suwannee Natewong, Michael Schall, Kerry Phillips, Bayeté Ross Smith, Robert Bickey, Ashely Lathe, and Bev Nagy.
